Isabella Gibbons (circa 1836 - February 4, 1890) was a woman who had been claimed in ownership by white enslavers William Barton Rogers (1850-1853) and Francis H. Smith (1853-1863) and labored as a cook. In the 1850s, she married William D. Gibbons and had four children. After Emancipation, Gibbons became a prominent local educator and taught at the Freedman's School - now the Jefferson School. She is buried in Charlottesville's Oakwood Cemetery.
